Adam Harvey of Top Chef To Open a Restaurant in Brooklyn
Adam Harvey will be the latest Top Chef alum to bring his talents to New York City. DNAinfo has reported that Harvey will be opening a restaurant / butcher shop / coffee shop in Gowanus this summer. The place will open at 7:00 AM, when it will serve coffee and pastries, and will stay open until midnight. In the evenings, it will be a full-service restaurant. During the day, customers can purchase humanely raised meats from the butcher shop.
Born and raised in New York, Harvey has had extensive experience in some of the city’s best restaurants. He began his career working with David Burke. During his time there he opened David Burke Fishtail as sous chef. He also worked at Bouley, before joining Danny Meyer in what would be a long tenure with Union Square Hospitality Group. First, he worked as a sous chef at Union Square Café. After a trip to Europe, he returned and tried his hand at catering with the legendary group. He’s also worked at both the Meat Hook and ABC Kitchen which really rounded out a varied experience for him.
Of course, we all know him from season 12 of Top Chef. As told to DNAinfo, the restaurant will be called A&E Supply co, and it will be a “healthy-ish modern American bistro.” He’s opening in an area of Gowanus where lots of luxury rental buildings are. We’re looking forward to trying it!
