If it weren’t for Enlightenment-era France, there would be no America. (The Marquis de Lafayette = the truest baller.) And if it weren’t for the United States winning the Revolutionary War, there would be no Bastille Day! (Seriously, look it up.) And, in light of the special culinary relationship between France and America, some of the best chefs in the country honored the storming of the Bastille, the birth of the First Republic, and the general coolness of France.
