WATCH: Danny Meyer Says Your Burger Tastes Better After Waiting An Hour In Line For It
With 24 out of 25 successful restaurants (and the 25th was in business 13 years before closing), Danny Meyer is quite the industry mogul, despite his interminable lines at Shake Shack. But wait, says Danny, the lines are part of the fun! Yes, when quizzed on his secrets to success by CBS This Morning, he insisted that, in a food porn blogging kinda world, it’s the experience that sets his ventures apart from the rest. His business motto “Hire Hard, Train Easy” is essentially a bastardization of “Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can’t Lose” — you know, if Coach Taylor hawked burgers in New York City. Each new hire of Danny’s must meet a certain “hospitality quotient” to prove their passion for the biz, and that passion supposedly makes a Shack Burger worth the wait.
Check out the clip below and see if you’re buying what Danny’s selling. Related: can a girl get a revamped french fry recipe? Shack Fries are mad underwhelming.
