Giada De Laurentiis Pegs Justin Warner To Win Food Network Star This Sunday

The pilots have been filmed, the votes are in and, on Sunday night, the new winner of Food Network Star will be crowned. Everyone watching has their favorite contestants — including the mentors — and in an interview with YumSugar, Giada De Laurentiis revealed hers.

When asked who she felt was most likely to win the show, she decided not to pick Team Giada finalist Yvan, but instead chose one of Alton’s two finalists Justin Warner as the title’s front runner:

“I think that just from watching social media and seeing who people are interested in, I have my money on Justin. [The winner] doesn’t have to be on my team. I’m interested in everybody’s contestants, and I think he has intrigued many people to the point where I think they want to see what else he can do.”

Giada’s endorsement makes sense, as she says that the success of a Food Network host “relies on [their] ability to sell something” to the audience at home. Justin’s growing fan base also helps him greatly in this season’s viewer-controlled competition, especially, because, she says, “Ultimately, the success of a Food Network star is in the hands of the viewership.”
