It’s Happening: Guy Fieri To Open Restaurant In NYC
The city of New York has finally fallen victim to a Guy Fieri restaurant. The bland and vaguely named Guy’s American Kitchen and Bar (an omen for the food to come) will be Guy’s first east coast venture. His other seven (yes, seven) restaurants are all located in California.
Things we’re sure of: it’s opening in Times Square via a partnership with NYC mini-chain Heartland Brewery. According to the press release:
Guy’s American Kitchen & Bar will showcase a wide-ranging menu full of the big, bold flavors Fieri is known for, as well as three full bars, a California-centric wine list, and an extensive draft beer program featuring signature beers craft brewed for Fieri right in New York City.
Things we’re betting on: the only people eating there will be tourists who are tired of eating at the Times Square TGI Friday’s at the deafening insistence of their children. In the meantime, we will continue to avoid Times Square like the culinary cesspool of mediocrity that it is. Because not everyone appreciates paying $30 for a chicken caesar salad with approximately two pounds of chicken on it.
