Playing With Fire’s Julie Elkind Leaves Delicatessen After Just 4 Months

Right before Playing With Fire — E!’s Kardashian-esque docuseries revolving around chefs and restaurateurs — premiered, its youngest cast member, 25-year-old Julie Elkind, announced that she was leaving her job at Corporate Executive Pastry Chef of Esquared Hospitality Group to take a position at Delicatessen.

Of course, as the six-episode series played out, we learned she was fired from her position at ESquared, and now, she’s announced that after just four months on the job, she’s also leaving Delicatessen.

“We were not able to agree on the best approach for our dessert program. After many attempts to make it work, we decided it was best to go our separate ways,” a Michael Ferraro rep told Grub Street.

Hmm, we wonder if male chefs who stood their ground and fought for their vision the way Julie does would keep getting fired… Or is this just a case of a young chef being too feisty for her britches?
