Meet the First-Ever Female Pastry Chef at the White House

Her name is Susan E. Morrison (and she goes by “Susie”). She’ll be joining the first-ever female executive at the White House, Cristeta Comerford, whom is said to be Morrison’s “mentor, leader and inspiration.”

The coolest part of it all, shares Obama Foodorama?

That’s very cool indeed. From the White House:

Morrison’s career at the Executive Residence began in 1995 as a contract pastry employee while employed at the Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner Hotel. She was appointed to Assistant Pastry Chef in 2002. During her time working at the White House, Morrison worked with Executive Pastry Chefs Roland Mesnier, Thaddeus Dubois and Bill Yosses. Executive Chef Cristeta Comerford has continued to be a mentor, leader and inspiration for Morrison.

Morrison taking over the role of executive pastry chef from Yoses, who left over the summer. Now let’s see that rad gingerbread house!
