WATCH: 1980s Austrian Milk Carton Fail Makes Us Feel Better About Our Own Inadequacies

While some of us (ahem) are actually really good at opening milk cartons and thus, the designated milk carton openers of our apartments, we acknowledge that not everyone is born with the specific flick of the wrist skill needed to efficiently open one.

Sadly, one of those poor, unfortunate souls is apparently a high-ranking Austrian government official who was appointed to the task of demonstrating how the latest and greatest invention in food packaging — the wax and cardboard milk carton — worked. In this video, which appears to be made sometimes in the 1980s, the gentleman takes one of the newfangled milk containers and provides us with an instructional demo of how to open it.

Unfortunately, he has some trouble with the tear-off perforated bit (Austrian milk cartons from the ’80s are slightly different from the more streamlined versions we have today), but, no matter, boys and girls, we’ll just use a pair of scissors to…oh.
