Parts Unknown Gets Renewed for Season 3

In spite of CNN’s deplorable programming move, pitting the New Mexico episode of Parts Unknown against the Series Finale of Breaking Bad, ZPZ and Anthony Bourdain received some good news today: CNN announced that Parts Unknown would be returning for a third season (how old is that in Cable News Years, Tina?), debuting spring 2014. The eight-episode season features segments shot in Brazil and Las Vegas, plus an African safari.
Said Jeff Zucker, President of CNN Worldwide:
“We had high expectations for this series when it launched back in April, thanks to Tony and Zero Point Zero Production’s proven track record of success…Yet they keep raising the bar — first with the spectacular series premiere in Myanmar, later in the season with the groundbreaking Libya episode, and then at the start of season two with a sensitive and incredibly informative tour of Jerusalem, Gaza and the West Bank. Parts Unknown is a consistent ratings and critical success and we are so proud to be in partnership with Tony and ZPZ.”
TLDR; CNN has a shameless bro-crush on Bourdain.
