WATCH: Seamus Mullen Heals With ‘Hero Food’ On Rachael Ray

Seamus Mullen, chef/owner of NYC’s Tertulia and former Next Iron Chef contender, stopped by The Rachael Ray Show today to chat about his new book Hero Foods. Mullen suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and discovered how to ease his symptoms just by experimenting with different foods to tweak his diet. This lead to an all-out scavenger hunt for the best foods with healing properties, all of which were funneled into recipes for Hero Foods. Um, can we employ this methodology to eat a lot of foods in an effort to discover what will curb our birthday cake truffle cravings once and for all? Because, if so, we would like to publish our very scientific findings in a cookbook called No More Momo Milk Bar Binges. We think Seamus is onto something with the ginger. Ginger seems like it could be a major component in cracking our very serious cake truffle-related health issues.

Check out the lovable Seamus demoing an easy peasy lemon squeezey (yeah, right) almond romesco sauce with spring eggs (as opposed to winter eggs, which will, in fact, bloat the shit out of you), parsley, and Rachael’s beloved EVOO.
