WATCH: Snickers Solved Misogyny, Just Keep Men Hungry 24/7

So Australia has been ranked as having the #1 quality of living in the world, which probably has something to do with how sex-positive they are as a people. Also, maybe healthcare. We dunno.
But in this Snickers Australia commercial, they also let their feminist flag fly by showing that, if you keep a construction worker hungry, he won’t be himself, and will catcall women on the street with comments like: “I’d like to show you the respect you deserve!”
The ad has gotten mixed reviews for implying that only hungry men not acting like themselves are capable of respecting women, and/or that all construction workers are misogynist pigs. Also, no matter what a dude aggressively yells at a woman, it’s going to sound intimidating.
We’ll give Snickers Australia the benefit of the doubt based on this seemingly self-aware call out of themselves: “You know what I’d like to see? A society in which the objectification of women makes way for gender neutral interactions free from assumptions and expectations. YOU GO GIRL.”
