The inevitable deluge of Top Chef promotional material before the Season 10 premiere on Wednesday includes a preview of the first few minutes of the first episode, which — refreshingly for Top Chef — asks the potential cheftestants to prove that they have a solid foundation of restaurant cooking skills. In Tom Colicchio’s case, he throws the potential chefs to work on his line during dinner service; in Emeril Lagasse’s, he asks the cheftestants to make him soup. Obviously they won’t tell us who made it on, but one thing’s for sure: there are some fantastic moustaches this season.
