Fox’s Larry Kudlow Accuses Kathy Hochul of Bashing New York With the ‘Stupid Stick’ Over Data Center Ban

Fox Business host Larry Kudlow accused New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) of hitting her constituents repeatedly with the “stupid stick,” and he said the latest example is her just-announced AI data center ban.

Kudlow vented about NY’s leadership on Wednesday afternoon.

“New York has gotten hit several times by the stupid stick, and it’s not going to learn,” Kudlow said. “I’m not bullish on here. I live here — my primary residence is Studio J — but here, Gov. Hochul with her stupid stick is now saying no data centers for a year.”

He was referring to the executive order Hochul signed on Tuesday, banning new data centers for up to one year.

Hochul defended her order in a TV interview with Fox 5 in NYC on Wednesday, saying”I’m talking about the hyper-scaler, massive[data centers], the ones that consume and guzzle so much energy.” She also said she “protecting” New Yorkers from noisy data centers keeping them up all night.

Kudlow wasn’t buying her spin, though.

“Why not just donate the money to China? Just give it to them,” Kudlow vented.

He said he heard President Donald Trump had put out a Truth Social post bashing Hochul over the move and that it was a “beauty.” Kudlow was referring to Trump’s early morning post where he insisted Hochul “IMMEDIATELY” reverse the policy.

“One of the biggest Driving Forces in the Future for Jobs, are Data Centers,” Trump said.“They are big, strong, bold, and Money Machines for the State in which they are built. Governor Kathy Hochul, for political reasons, has terminated all Data Centers being built, or to be built, in New York State.”

Kudlow added Hochul’s ban just added to the bad ideas peddled by NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani, whom he called an “anti-Semitic dumbo.” The veteran host said Mamdani was a stooge for pushing rent control, since it drives up rent prices for everyone who isn’t lucky enough to snag a rent-controlled apartment.
