Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) needled his embattled colleague Bob Menendez (D-NJ) by paying former congressman George Santos to film a brief message for ‘Bobby from Jersey” on Monday.
“I thought my ethically-challenged colleague @BobMenendezNJ could use some encouragement given his substantial legal problems. So, I approached a seasoned expert on the matter to give ‘Bobby from Jersey’ some advice,” mused Fetterman on X.
In the video, Santos shouts “Hey Bobby!” before launching into the meat of his pep talk:
Look, I don’t think I need to tell you, but these people that want to make you get in trouble and want to kick you out and make you run away, you make them put up or shut up! You stand your ground, sir. And don’t get bogged down by all the haters out there. Stay Strong! Merry Christmas!

Fetterman has been among the most outspoken critics of Menendez in all of Congress since Menendez was indicted for being an unregistered agent of the Egyptian government even as he served as the top ranking Democrat and Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
A search of Menendez’s home turned up hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash as well as gold bars. He is charged with accepting bribes to use his position to benefit Egypt.
After Santos was expelled from Congress last week, Fetterman called for Menendez to meet the same fate during an appearance on The View.
“We have a colleague in the Senate that actually does much more sinister and serious kinds of things, Senator Menendez. He needs to go,” mused Fetterman on Friday. “And if you are going to expel Santos, how can you allow somebody like Menendez to remain in the Senate? And, you know, Santos is kind of, lies were almost, you know, funny. And like, you know, he, you know, landed on the moon and that kind of stuff. Whereas, you know, I think, you know, Menendez, I think is really a senator for Egypt. You know, not New Jersey. So I really think he needs to go.”
Santos is gearing up for his own legal defense against campaign finance-related charges brought against him by the Department of Justice by making personalized videos for paying customers on Cameo.
