Hunter Biden Threatened to Knock Jake Tapper Out at Super Bowl

Anti-Tapper Hit Piece Says Hunter Biden Threatened To Knock Him Out At Super Bowl

Former First Son Hunter Biden threatened violence against CNN anchor and best-selling author Jake Tapper during a confrontation at the Super Bowl, Biden told Breaker Media in a new report.

Tapper and Thompson are out with a new book, Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, And His Disastrous Choice to Run Again, which has prompted a muted response from BidenWorld.

That response has included a mini-tour by former President Joe Biden and former First Lady Jill Biden. Biden emerged back into the spotlight earlier this month with a BBC radio interview that was his first since leaving office, followed by an hour on ABC’s The View along with the former first lady.

Granddaughter Naomi Biden also dropped a flamethrower of a response to Tapper and Thompson, whom she called “irresponsible self-promoting journalists” who relied on “unnamed, anonymous sources pushing a self-serving false narrative” in their book.

Speaking of unnamed, anonymous sources, a new Breaker Media piece hitting Tapper features explosive claims that include information from between five and seven such sources.

But the main source for the article is very much named and on the record — Hunter Biden. In an anecdote that has become the subject of furious disagreement, both sides agree on one thing — that Hunter Biden threatened to knock Tapper out at a Super Bowl party in 2018:

When we reached Hunter he told us: “It would be impossible to forget or misremember something that upsetting and out of line during one of the toughest moments of my life. It happened. I was furious. And I told him so the next time I saw him, which was at the Super Bowl.”

At that game Tapper approached Hunter to shake his hand. But Hunter responded that he was still so enraged about what had happened at Walter Reed that he would knock him out if they were not in a public setting. We are told Tapper would later demand an apology from Biden for his son’s behavior.

Tapper told us that “Hunter did once confront me at a Super Bowl party, but it was over an unrelated issue — coverage he wrongly believed I had done regarding divorce allegations of drug use and using prostitutes, which I actually had never done”. (Again repeating a statement he gave last week.)

At issue is Hunter’s claim that Tapper called him for a heads-up when his now-deceased brother Beau Biden was at death’s door. That claim was reported through anonymous Bidenworld sources last week, then leveled by Hunter in the Breaker Media piece.

Tapper denied the allegation in a statement to Mediaite, repeating what he told Puck News and Breaker:

This is a patently false lie. At no point in my life have I ever called Hunter Biden — I’ve never even had his phone number — and I would never have contacted a person’s immediate family during such a challenging and personal time.

Hunter did once confront me at a Super Bowl party, but it was over an unrelated issue — coverage he wrongly believed I had done regarding divorce allegations of drug use and using prostitutes, which I actually had never done.

Mediaite has been able to confirm from both camps that the detail about Hunter’s threat is true.

A spokesperson for Tapper also told Mediaite, “The idea that Jake could do something so heartless—and yet the Bidens would subsequently offer him multiple sit down interviews as well as agree to him moderating the debate, all without anyone hearing about it until now—completely defies logic.”

Biden interviewed then-President Biden in 2022, and then-future First Lady Dr. Jill Biden in 2020.
