Actor Matthew Perry, star of the hit TV show “Friends” among many other TV and film credits, died in apparent drowning incident at a home in Los Angeles, TMZ reported first on Saturday.
Perry, 54, was discovered dead at a home in Los Angeles by first-responders that had been called to the scene for cardiac arrest, TMZ reported, citing police sources.
Law enforcement sources tell us the actor was found Saturday at an L.A.-area home … where we’re told he appears to have drowned. Our sources say first-responders rushed over on a call for cardiac arrest. It’s unclear where exactly on the grounds this happened.
Our sources say he was found in a jacuzzi at the home … and we’re told there were no drugs found at the scene. We’re also told there is no foul play involved.
The actor who played the iconic character Chandler Bing on Friends has opened up about the massive fame and his struggles with addiction in a memoir published last year titled “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing” from Flatiron Books.
Perry was born in Williamstown, Massachusetts and spent much of his childhood in Ottawa, Canada. In addition to his many TV roles he starred in films such as “Three to Tango”, “Fools Rush In”, “The Whole Nine Yards”, and more.
