CNN Reveals Influencer Closely Tied to GOP Senate Candidate Is a White Nationalist With a Long History of Racist Comments

CNN’s KFile revealed that MAGA Republican Senate candidate Mike Collins (R-GA) has family ties to a white nationalist influencer with a long history of racist and antisemitic comments.

“Collins has built a national profile as a combative, Trump-aligned online provocateur — a style that has repeatedly drawn scrutiny over his associations with far-right figures, inflammatory social media posts and accusations of antisemitism, which he has denied,” the report said. “Now, one of the starkest examples of extremism in the Georgia congressman’s orbit appears much closer to home: his son-in-law, David Alan Scheer II.”

Scheer recently shared multiple posts on Instagram promoting Patriot Front, the racist hate group that flooded Washington, DC, over July 4th, and has “a track record of sharing antisemitic material and Nazi imagery in comments across the internet,” the report said.

The report added that Scheer “has amassed more than 1.5 million followers across TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and Telegram by posting about fitness, masculinity and Christianity.”

“On those same platforms, Scheer has promoted White nationalist ideology, spread antisemitic conspiracy theories, called for Muslims to be deported and shared an antisemitic infographic targeting Jews that he said his wife (Collins’ daughter) made,” the report said, continuing:

Scheer, who is married to Collins’ daughter, Summer, is featured in family photographs on Collins’ campaign website and social media. He attended Collins’ Senate primary election-night victory party and appears to have helped produce promotional work for Collins’ trucking company. Scheer is registered to vote at a Collins-owned property adjacent to the congressman’s large home in Georgia.

Collins is running against Democratic incumbent Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) in the midterms. In the response to the KFile report, Ossoff said:

Only a known bigot and antisemite like Mike Collins would enable the ongoing spread of neo-Nazi propaganda. How much has Mike Collins paid neo-Nazi David Alan Scheer and is Scheer still based on Collins’ property? Mike Collins must apologize immediately for his and his office’s disqualifying ties to neo-Nazi ideology and notorious white supremacists.

When CNN’s KFile asked Collins’ campaign about Scheer, a spokesperson did not address the relationship, saying, in a statement, “Rep. Collins’ lifelong support for Israel is unquestionable and backed by his consistent record in Congress of standing up for Israel and her people.”
