Cuomo Dodges When Questioned at Press Conference on Reported Letter Attacking Accuser Lindsey Boylan

Governor Andrew Cuomo (D- NY) dodged a question at his Wednesday briefing over new reporting on how his allies wanted to fire back at one accuser.

WNYC reporter Gwynne Hogan brought up a New York Times report on efforts by people in Cuomo’s inner circle to publicly attack the credibility of former aide Lindsey Boylan, who has accused the governor of sexual harassment. As the Times reported, the letter suggested “her accusation was premeditated and politically motivated” and said, “Weaponizing a claim of sexual harassment for personal political gain or to achieve notoriety cannot be tolerated.”

Cuomo responded by saying, “Miss Boylan is one of the issues that is going to be reviewed by the Assembly and the attorney general, and I want them to do their review and let them determine the facts, and then we’ll take it from there.”

“You need to know facts,” the governor continued. “Now, we could either debate facts in the media or we could let fact-finders find facts, and then have an intelligent conversation on an agreed-to set of facts, rather than have competing facts.”

After the press conference, Hogan tweeted she “Got muted.”
