‘Dangerous and Offensive!’ Biden White House Torches Trump Over ‘Abhorrent’ and ‘Disgraceful’ Unified Reich Video

President Joe Biden’s White House torched the Trump campaign over a “dangerous and offensive” video promising a “unified Reich” if ex-President Donald Trump wins.

Trump’s repeated Hitler-echoing comments have earned him negative headlines for months — even as he continued to use the language — as did news that he praised Hitler to his then-chief of staff.

On Monday, Trump posted a video that referenced a “unified Reich” beneath headlines about a Trump victory.

In a statement to Mediaite, Senior Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates condemned the video:

As you know, we follow the law and do not comment on the 2024 election.

It is abhorrent, sickening, and disgraceful for anyone to promote content associated with Germany’s Nazi government under Adolf Hitler.

Just as it is disgraceful to dine with neo-Nazis, or to say there were “very fine people on both sides” after Charlottesville, or to falsely claim that Hitler “did some good things.”

Any Antisemitic dog whistling is dangerous and offensive – and profoundly un-American.

The Trump campaign put out a statement distancing itself from the video, blaming a staffer and making other excuses.

Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said in that statement that “This was not a campaign video. It was created by a random account online and reposted by a staffer who clearly did not see the word while the president was in court.”

The Biden campaign also torched Trump in a statement emailed to Mediaite:

“America, stop scrolling and pay attention. Donald Trump is not playing games; he is telling America exactly what he intends to do if he regains power: rule as a dictator over a ‘unified reich.’ Parroting ‘Mein Kampf’ while you warn of a bloodbath if you lose is the type of unhinged behavior you get from a guy who knows that democracy continues to reject his extreme vision of chaos, division, and violence.”

After being called out by CNN and others for leaving the video up even after trying to distance themselves from it, Trump finally deleted the post.
