Former Israeli UN Ambassador Tells Fox & Friends Rep. Rashida Tlaib is a ‘Disgrace’ for Flying Palestinian Flag
Former Israeli ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon slammed Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) for her comments and display of the Palestinian flag while Israel is at war with Hamas.
Danon spoke with Fox & Friends on Tuesday as Israel continues its retaliation against Hamas after the terror group’s murder and kidnapping of hundreds of civilians. Ainsley Earhardt brought up Tlaib as she asked Danon what he thought about recent pro-Palestine demonstrations despite the horrific attack that just happened to Israel.
“Mr. Ambassador, what’s your reaction to our congresswoman, Rashida Tlaib? She’s a Democrat and she is flying this Palestinian flag outside of her office,” Earhardt said. The Fox & Friends host also noted how the congresswoman (who is of Palestinian descent) called Israel an “apartheid government” that created the “suffocating, dehumanizing conditions that can lead to resistance.”
“She’s a disgrace. Shame on her for such a behavior,” Danon said. “Imagine that in her hometown in Detroit, Michigan, 1000 people would have been kidnapped and killed. Children, families. How can she even identify themselves with such brutality? I think the people of Michigan should send her home. I know she doesn’t represent the American people.”
Tlaib’s comments were echoed by Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO), though their fellow Democrats condemned both of them for their calls to end support to Israel. The blowback against Tlaib culminated in Congressman Max Miller (R-OH) advancing an amendment forbidding non-U.S. flags from Congress.
