Fox News’ Kennedy Reveals Who’s Losing the ‘Civil War’ in Trump’s Administration

Fox News’ Kennedy said there was a “civil war” within President Donald Trump’s administration over immigration enforcement, claiming on Thursday that the recent change in leadership showed a clear winner.

Kennedy joined The Five to discuss border czar Tom Homan’s announcement on Thursday that the federal immigration surge operation in Minneapolis had ended. The group also touched on Katie Couric’s recent podcast interview with Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), where the pair discussed ICE operations.

Kennedy took issue with Couric’s dismay that only 14% of those arrested by the agency were violent criminals, explaining how the former CBS News anchor should have approached the question differently.

“The way for her to play this, especially with someone like Rand Paul, who often times goes rogue from his own caucus, would be to say, you know, we needed to get the 14%. That’s fantastic,” said Kennedy. “But how can we and other cities just focus on that 14% instead of minimizing it, and saying, you know, ‘14% really isn’t that bad.’ Because it is bad.”

Kennedy then turned to the difference in tactics between Homan and Department of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, likening Noem to a Civil War general famously removed from his post by President Abraham Lincoln.

Read her remarks below:

It is the worst of the worst, and I think the point of this Tom Homan experiment was to show that people like Tim Walz and Jacob Frey and governors and mayors across the country who are plagued by crime and homelessness and all sorts of other things they are unwilling to tackle, is they have wanted this. They have wanted these people out of their cities and their states, but unfortunately, when Kristi Noem was in their grandstanding, it allowed Jacob Frey to grandstand. And when you have Tom Homan go in and you know talk to these people behind closed doors and say, you know, “We are going to do this differently, we are going to go into the county jails.” He said he had everyone from every county lining up to help get rid of those 14% that all of those places are desperate to rid themselves of, so, you know, what we needed was to bring the temperature down. And look, magically, ICE is able to drawdown, and you are not seeing as many deadly protests in the streets. And I think this is ultimately what the president wanted all along. There was a civil war within his administration, and I believe that we are seeing Tom Homan is the Ulysses S. Grant here. And Kristi Noem is the George Mcclellan. A footnote in history.
