Fox’s Harris Faulkner Says ‘We Need to Make an Example’ of Anthony Fauci

The hosts of Fox News’ Outnumbered had a heated discussion about Anthony Fauci Tuesday — with anchor Harris Faulkner calling to “make an example” out of the former U.S. health official.

The panel discussed Fauci’s scheduled Wednesday appearance to testify on Capitol Hill, with Faulkner noting she took Fauci’s behavior during the pandemic “personally”:

I want to get to this point. I think we have been in our own sort of Republic evolution long enough to figure out how to best punish officials when they hurt the public.

Do we all have to join a class-action lawsuit or is there a mechanism rather than a shame fest on Capitol Hill?

Because if nothing comes about, if we only elevate his status in the public even more, his ego is fed either way. He doesn’t care if you love him or hate him. He’s known. He’s the most famous man in the world at one point.

He wasn’t saying people loved him. He said he was famous. I’m concerned that that’s what we’ll do.

We’ll cover it from stem to stern. Everybody wants to see the hearing. There’s going to be a lot of facts checked in that and I love that.

But this man literally lied to us. Caused those of us who are responsible to the public to say what he was saying was true.

I take it professionally and personally that now we know more detail about that. It’s not enough to shame him on Capitol Hill for me. I want more. I want justice with this guy. I don’t know what that looks like.

The segment included a rundown of how the Covid-19 pandemic unfolded, with Fox contributor Lisa Boothe noting recent reports which revealed Fauci knew the death rate from the virus was “significantly less than what he was telling the public.”

“So the basis of all this and why it matters is that all of this would have reshaped our response to Covid as well as the public narrative. And he knew the truth yet he told us lies,” Boothe said.

Faulkner wanted to know how Fauci could be held accountable:

Okay, so we know that. What next? We didn’t even learn from 1918. Fifty million people died from the Spanish flu. They never closed New York City schools. This guy — this guy. Yeah we can vilify him on Capitol Hill but I’m telling you this can happen again. We need to make an example out of him.
