Greta Van Susteren Leads Tributes for Beloved Newsmax Staffer Allegedly Shot and Killed by Her Own Son
Newsmax anchor Greta Van Susteren was among several current and former staffers at the network to pay tribute to a beloved makeup artist who was allegedly shot and killed by her own son over the weekend.
Police were called to an Arlington, Virginia apartment Sunday morning, where officers found Travis Renee Baldwin shot and wounded, according to reports. She was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Logan Chrisinger, 27 — Baldwin’s son — was arrested and charged with the shocking crime.
Shocked by the news, several past and present Newsmax staffers took to social media to pay tribute to Baldwin, 57, who was remembered as a “beautiful” and “kind” soul at the network.
Van Susteren posted: “What sadness….my Newsmax make up artist of 3 1/2 years, and years at @ABC @espn etc and a friend to all of her colleagues…was murdered over the weekend…she did my make up Friday for the show and of course I never dreamed that would be the last time I would see her…”
Chrisinger, who was still in the apartment when police arrived, had battled mental health issues in the past and called Baldwin for help early Sunday morning, Fox 5 Washington reported.
He’s been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated malicious wounding, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to the Fox affiliate.
Chrisinger was ordered held without bond at the Arlington County Detention Facility.
