‘He’s a Joke!’ Chris Christie Annihilates ‘Foolish Man’ RFK Jr. in Fiery ABC Debate

Chris Christie went off about Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — days after Kennedy received a bipartisan grilling in the Senate over a myriad of criticisms about his work leading HHS.

In a heated panel debate on ABC’s This Week, Christie absolutely laced into Kennedy — as well as Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), a licensed physician who cast the decisive vote to confirm Kennedy back in February.

“You look at that appearance before Congress and it just confirms what all of us around this table have known for decades,” Christie said. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a foolish man, full of foolish and vapid ideas. And that was on display again this week in front of Congress. And I really don’t want to hear about Bill Cassidy because he is a co-conspirator with the president of the United States for putting this wholly unqualified man in charge of 25 percent of all government spending. Without Cassidy’s vote, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. would not be in. And maybe he’s feeling some guilt from what he did.

Christie went on to torch President Donald Trump — accusing him of appointing Kennedy to the crucial post as a message to his critics.

“The president did this,” Christie said. “He knows. The president’s smart enough to know RFK Jr. doesn’t belong in that job. But after he won, he wanted to show everybody, I can do whatever I want to do because this Senate will be compliant no matter what I do and I’ll put the greatest vaccine and public health denier of the last 20 years in charge of public health in America. It’s a human middle finger, George, to everybody who opposed him.”

The debate ratcheted up when former Trump chief of staff Reince Priebus challenged Christie’s assessment of the HHS chief.

“I saw a decent, humble, caring guy,” Priebus said. “I think he’s trying to do the right thing.”

“Humble?” This Week anchor George Stephanopoulos asked, clearly skeptical.

“Yeah, I think he is,” Priebus said. “And you know what? He’s trying to balance the benefits of the Covid shot versus some of the admitted risks that the CDC has put on him.”

“I’m very confused by you this morning,” Christie told Priebus. “So I want to know : You think Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Is the best man to be leading public health?! Answer the question!

“It’s not my decision!” Priebus shot back. “It’s the president’s decision!”

“You’re supporting the decision … You just called him a humble, qualified man!” Christie said. “So you think he’s the best person to lead public health in this country? He’s a joke! He’s a foolish man and he’s a joke!”
