‘I Voted Against That Kind of Crap!’ Tucker Carlson Savages Trump Over Epstein Controversy

Tucker Carlson — the former Fox News host who said he loved Donald Trump after private text messages betrayed his disdain for the president — ripped into Trump publicly over his handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case over the weekend.

Carlson’s comments came during an interview with Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk.

“Anybody who asks obvious questions like, ‘Hey, were you running a sexual blackmail scheme in my country?’ ‘Shut up!’ says Ben Shapiro. ‘You’re an anti-Semite!’ Well, no I’m not. Why is it not a fair question? There’s tons of evidence this is happening. Like, are you joking? You’re not going to shout me down, by the way, at this point. I spent four years being shouted down by the Left for asking, I thought pretty reasonable questions. I have always felt very moderate, I’m not a hater at all, and I don’t-, I’m not gonna become one. And I don’t think my questions are insane. They may be stupid. But if they’re stupid, then just speak slowly so I can understand as you answer them,” began Carlson.

“They’re not crazy. And if they are, tell me how. But dismissing me out of hand by attacking my motive is not going to work, and telling me that my question is an insult to the children who died in Texas in a flood is an outrageous response! You are-, anyway, sorry, sorry. And I say that, I say that with love, but I voted against that kind of crap!” he continued.

At a Cabinet meeting last week, Trump bristles when asked about a DOJ memo that concluded that Epstein killed himself and had no incriminating “client list.”

“You’re asking – we have Texas, we have this, we have all of the things, and are people still talking about this guy? This creep? That is unbelievable,” marveled the visibly aghast Trump at the time. “I mean, I can’t believe you’re asking a question on Epstein at a time like this, where we’re having some of the greatest success and also tragedy with what happened in Texas. It just seems like a desecration.”

Carlson was seemingly less than impressed with the comments.

“It’s not just the argument, it’s the style of argument. You are not allowed to dismiss my questions as a United States citizen with a wave of the hand, and an attack on my character,” he added during his conversation with Kirk. “You get the middle finger in the face from me for doing that until you stop doing it. So, I think we have an absolute right to demand sensible answers. And the first question is, who the hell was Jeffrey Epstein working for? Why did Leon Black pay him a hundred and something million dollars for tax advice? Don’t-, stop lying to me! It’s not tax advice. I have an accountant and it’s not that expensive.”
