Jon Voight Posts a Wild Direct-to-Camera Screed Trashing Gavin Newsom: ‘Lying Dog!’

Actor Jon Voight let loose on Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) in a wild, direct-to-camera screed posted on X late Tuesday.

In a heated, two-minute rant captioned “To the Governor,” Voight — a prominent Hollywood supporter of President Donald Trump — took aim at the California governor over his response to the protests in downtown Los Angeles against the ICE immigration raids.

“You’re a fool blaming Trump!” Voight said — wagging his finger at the camera. “What are you doing for this destruction — these animals destroying Los Angeles? Are you there talking calmly with them, you fool?! They would burn you down like they’re burning the cars and the American flag, with no regard for humanity!”

Voight claimed Newsom has been getting too personal with the president rather than keeping the city safe.

“This is not about Trump,” Voight said. “This is about protecting the people from these animals and criminals trying to destroy us. And our police force. Are they supposed to stand there, let rocks hit them and kill them?! Who’s going to save them? You?!”

The actor added, “All you do is cause chaos for the people. You’re a disgrace! You’re nothing but a lying dog for the hopes of becoming the president one day!”

The governor’s press office responded to Voight with a popular meme:
