Kamala Harris’s New Book Racks Up Massive Sales — On Track to Be Best-Selling Memoir of 2025, Publisher Says

Former Vice President Kamala Harris is a hit at the bookstores, her publisher says.

According to Simon & Schuster (via multiple reporters), the new Harris tome 107 Days has been a smash and is on pace to be the best-selling memoir of the year.

“107 DAYS by former Vice President Kamala Harris has sold 350,000 copies across all formats through the first week on sale in the U.S,” the publisher said. “The combined sales figure includes pre-orders, sales of print books, ebooks, and e-audiobooks. The publisher has ordered a 5th printing of the book that when complete will bring the number of hardcover copies in print to 500,000. These sales put 107 DAYS on a trajectory to be the best-selling memoir published in 2025.”

According to Publishers Weekly data, the best-selling book of 2024 sold 1.45 million copies. The former vice president’s debut gives her a good chance to make the top 10 on the overall list for 2025.

A media tour to promote the book undoubtedly helped the cause. Harris participated in high-profile sitdowns with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, and the hosts of ABC’s The View — among other notable media engagements. The interview with Maddow was the former vice president’s first on television since leaving office in January.

Some splashy revelations undoubtedly padded book sales as well. In the biggest headline-grabber, Harris criticized President Joe Biden for what she called a “reckless” decision to run for reelection in 2024.

“Was it grace, or was it recklessness?” Harris asked — of Biden’s decision to run. “In retrospect, I think it was recklessness. The stakes were simply too high. This wasn’t a choice that should have been left to an individual’s ego, an individual’s ambition.”
