Laura Loomer Accuses Top RFK Jr. Aide of Prepping His 2028 Bid as MAGA Purge Intensifies

MAGA firebrand Laura Loomer has locked on Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s closest aide and longtime Democratic activist Stefanie Spear, whom she accuses of using her government access to lay the groundwork for her boss’ 2028 White House bid.

Spear, who has worked alongside Kennedy for over a decade, has become a crucial figure in his political orbit. Her role has ranged from executive assistant to campaign spokesperson, making her a key gatekeeper.

But her presence is fueling suspicion in conservative circles that Kennedy’s team isn’t as ideologically aligned as they’d hoped.

“I’m not naive enough to think that the president is going to get rid of RFK,” Loomer told Politico’s Playbook on Wednesday, “but I will say that … there are concerns about some of the staffing decisions over at HHS.”

At the heart of her fury is what Loomer claims is Spear’s quiet bid to “lay the groundwork for a 2028 RFK presidential run,” citing unnamed “sources in HHS.”

Spear, who served as Kennedy’s press secretary during his 2024 campaign, is said by West Wing insiders to guard access to the secretary and wield unusual sway in a dynamic that has irked Trump loyalists for months.

The theory of Kennedy’s 2028 ambitions is hardly confined to Loomer. One former Trump official told Politico they “would not be surprised” if he was mulling another run, though they dismissed it as “not a real threat.”

In fact, according to Axios, conservative activists and policy groups have been quietly circulating links to Spear’s old social media posts for weeks now, pointing to her history of supporting Democratic causes.

HHS acting chief of staff Matt Buckham, however, brushed off the intrigue, telling the outlet Kennedy’s team was “laser-focused” on Trump’s “Make America Healthy Again” agenda, which includes food safety reforms and lowering drug prices.

Kennedy has long been in Loomer’s sights. She previously branded him a “Marxist” and “a very problematic person,” and her campaign against Spear mirrors earlier purges.
