Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has been hit with backlash from both the left and the right after writing “game on” in response to Israel’s attack against Iran.

“Game on. Pray for Israel,” Graham posted on X Thursday night, sparking a wave of backlash from critics who accused him of not taking the matter seriously.

“WARS ARE NOT GAMES. PEOPLE DIE,” responded former Ohio state senator and Bernie Sanders campaign co-chair Nina Turner. “You won’t be shipped off to war, but working class Americans who joined our military for healthcare and education would be. Their lives mean something. They aren’t your pawns to send to die.”

“Game? Your soul is lost,” commented Keith Olbermann, while former The View co-host Meghan McCain remarked, “It’s not a fucking game Lindsey.”

Many social media users compared Graham to the fictional 118-year-old Republican Senator “Holden Bloodfeast,” who wants to “nuke Iran” and “see burning flesh one last time before I die.”

Graham’s colleague from across the aisle, Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), also cheered Israel’s strikes from the sidelines.

“Our commitment to Israel must be absolute and I fully support this attack,” he wrote. “Keep wiping out Iranian leadership and the nuclear personnel. We must provide whatever is necessary—military, intelligence, weaponry—to fully back Israel in striking Iran.”
