‘Maybe He Was Always Evil’: MAGA Influencers Lash Out at Elon Musk for Launching ‘America Party’ Out of Fear it Will Boost Dems

Elon Musk’s creation of the “America Party” has sparked an uproar among MAGA influencers on X — fearing his efforts will only serve to boost Democrats.
After days of teasing it, Musk announced the new party in response to the President Donald Trump-backed “Big, Beautiful” budget bill — which the Tesla chief believes is packed with “waste & graft.”
“By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it!” Musk wrote on X — referencing a poll he conducted on the social media platform. “When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.”
Following up on the announcement, Musk appears to have filed an official statement of organization for the new party with the Federal Election Commission.
The move comes after weeks of intense criticism from Musk about the legislation. Musk has repeatedly referred to a “uniparty” in control of Washington running up a massive deficit. The America party is Musk’s apparent attempt to break that up.
Yet many prominent MAGA influencers believe the effort will only hand power to Democrats. Here’s a sampling of their reaction:
