‘Pete Hegseth Is a F*cking Liar’: Senate Democrat Calls on Defense Secretary to ‘Resign in Disgrace’

Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) deemed Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth a “f*cking liar” in a blistering statement calling on him “resign in disgrace” on Wednesday.
On Monday, Hegseth denied that war plans were shared in the Signal chat that The Atlantic‘s Jeffrey Goldberg was inadvertently added to, saying “Nobody was texting war plans. And that’s all I have to say about that.”
But on Wednesday, Goldberg published a follow-up story that included the texts Hegseth had sent in the chat, including ones in which he laid out the timeline of the operation before it was carried out.
Duckworth, an Army National Guard veteran who lost both of her legs in Iraq, reacted to the news by calling Hegseth a “f*cking liar” — and for his resignation.
“Pete Hegseth is a f*cking liar. This is so clearly classified info he recklessly leaked that could’ve gotten our pilots killed. He needs to resign in disgrace immediately,” she wrote. “Hegseth and every other official who was included in the group chat must be subject to an independent investigation. If Republicans won’t join us in holding the Trump administration accountable, then they are complicit in this dangerous and likely criminal breach of our national security.”
