Controversial Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) slammed the U.S. government on Thursday after the Pentagon denied the drones over New Jersey were from an Iranian “mothership” and local authorities said they were still investigating.

“I’m going to call it total bullshit that no one knows what these are,” Greene said in a clip she posted to X. “They can track down a guy that just killed a CEO, but they can’t identify what nightly drones are and where they’re coming from.” Greene went on to suggest that the government was “lying” about not knowing who was behind the drones and wrote in her post, “I think the Pentagon absolutely knows, but they’re full of crap.”

Greene has become a well-known figure for her years of pushing conspiracy theories, everything from questioning 9/11 to recently suggesting that government weather control was responsible for hurricanes.

“Secondly, if they’re telling the truth, then this country is in horrible shape,” she continued, adding, “We’re all in danger!”

“I mean, seriously, if our great government can’t identify what these drones are, they’re flying every single night, the people are sitting out there videoing with their cell phones, then no American is safe.”

“And I think they’re full of shit. If they don’t know, they need to resign in shame,” Greene concluded.

On Wednesday, Fox News’s Jennifer Griffin asked Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh, “Representative Jeff Van Drew, who is a Republican from New Jersey, was just on the air saying that Iran launched a mothership probably about a month ago that contains these drones and that that mothership is off the coast of the east coast of the United States. Is there any truth to that?”

“There is not any truth to that. There is no Iranian ship off the coast of the United States and there’s no so-called mothership launching drones towards the United States,” Singh concluded.

“These are not U.S. military drones. Again, this is being investigated by local law enforcement. What our initial assessment here is that these are not drones or activities coming from a foreign entity or adversary,” Singh also said earlier in the briefing.

Reports of drones in New Jersey have circulated in the media in recent days with Forbes reporting, “A New Jersey resident told NJ.com he had seen the drones every night, and a New Jersey police chief described the drones as the size of a car and bigger than the standard drones available for amateur drone flyers in a press conference.”
