Trump Called ‘Daddy’ Hours Before Inauguration On Fox News — And C-SPAN

President-elect Donald Trump was referred to as “Daddy” on multiple occasions before his inauguration on outlets as disparate as Fox News and C-SPAN.

Late in the presidential campaign, Trump fans added a new wrinkle to the many regular features people have come to expect from the then-former president’s rallies: calling Trump “Daddy.”

The paternal moniker was apparently originated by Tucker Carlson at a Turning Point USA event in Duluth, Georgia, in October, during which he constructed an elaborate scenario in which Trump is “Daddy” coming home “pissed” — and which ended with that metaphorical Daddy telling his “little girl” that “You’re getting a vigorous spanking because you’ve been a bad girl!”

That nickname rang out this weekend, first on Sunday’s edition of Fox News Channel’s , during which Trump ally Byron Donalds (R-FL) dropped it into a conversation about the rescue of TikTok:

STEVE DOOCY: Well, if you think about it, though, if Donald Trump, in his first week or two, were able to save TikTok for the 170 million Americans who use it, they’d be going like, you know what? I like that guy. He’s smart. He he sees the numbers. He’ll figure out a way to do it!

REP. BYRON DONALDS: It’s not just going to be that. I mean, when Americans see deportations or repatriations happen, they’re going to be like, thank you!

When I see the border close, they’re going to say, this is what I voted for.

When they see peace starting to break out again around the world, they’re going to be like, this is the stability that we were asking for.

Daddy’s back!

And that’s what you’re going to see.

And hours later, Trump held a “victory rally” at the Capital One Arena that aired on C-Span, during which Kid Rock performed his profane MAGA anthem “We the People” — but added the Trump “Daddy” line:

Check the stats, stop throwin’ stones! Straighten up, sucker, ‘cuz Daddy’s home!
