WATCH: Locks Changed on George Santos’s Office as Hill Staffers Snap Selfies After Historic Expulsion
Former Rep. George Santos (R-NY) made history on Friday, probably not in the way he hoped. After the House of Representatives voted to expel him, his ouster was effective immediately and he left the People’s House in a huff. And after that, his office was instantly transformed into a political landmark for giddy sightseers.
C-SPAN’s Communications Director Howard Mortman caught a few moments outside the disgraced former rep’s office on camera, including the moment a worker showed up to change the locks, ensuring the fabulist would never be able to enter ever again:

But it wasn’t all official business as some young Capitol Hill staffers showed up at the hastily vacated office and took some selfies to mark this occasion of schadenfreude:

Not all who passed through these hallowed halls were celebrating. One person left a solemn bouquet of flowers outside the office:

Santos left the Capitol in a dour mood before the vote — 311-114, including 104 Republicans — was completed. As he tried to outrun eager reporters, he declared “To hell with this place” and refused to take questions. Later Mortman posted a clip of the sign outside of Santos’s office being turned around, effectively ending the selfies.
