‘WE GOTTA GO!’ NBC Crew Flees As Milton Suddenly Unleashes Hell On Earth Live On Air

NBC News Now anchor Tom Llamas fled for his life live on the air as anchor Gadi Schwartz looked on from the studio during coverage of Hurricane Milton.

Shocking video and news crews in danger are staples of hurricane coverage, and Milton has been no exception.

A prime example is the terror that unfolded during Thursday night’s NBC News coverage of the storm, as a serene eye-of-the-storm report turned into Hell on Earth in seconds:

TOM LLAMAS: Welcome back to our live coverage of Hurricane Milton. The situation here in Sarasota is starting to turn dire. At first we had– Oh we’re going to go. We gotta go! We gotta go! We gotta go!

GADI SCHWARTZ: Wow! That is a live look right now!

TOM LLAMAS: Gadi, we’re okay. We just want to move inside.

GADI SCHWARTZ: Wow! If you’re joining us live, we’re watching Tom Llamas and his team fall back right now. Just moments ago. Tom Llamas was in the eye of the storm. It was completely quiet. There were people driving around.

(HELL ON EARTH IN BACKGROUND).

There was not that storm surge that you’re seeing. And now all of a sudden, within a matter of a minute or two, it is complete chaos where he is. The wind gusts are picking up. You see those flashes of light. You see what look like. Transformers blowing in the background of that storm surge has come in. Again, we are watching this live feed of Tom Llamas and his team falling back to safety.

If you were watching just a few minutes ago, you saw Tom. He was walking out there in the street. He was walking in relative calm. We were just talking about how eerie it was. And now that team is having to fall back to some safety.

You see the footsteps there in this storm surge that is rising there in Sarasota. Incredible images. We’re going to wait for Tom Llamas to reposition in a safer position. They’ve got a lot of different fallback locations throughout that area. And so they’re going to be falling back to one of those safer positions.
