‘You Gotta Accept the Results!’ Defeated Wisconsin GOP Candidate Heckled by Supporters as He Begs Them to Throw in the Towel
The defeated candidate in the closely-watched Wisconsin Supreme Court race was heckled by supporters after conceding the race to his opponent.
Speaking to supporters in Waukesha, WI Tuesday night after the race had been called, Brad Schimel — the conservative candidate backed by President Donald Trump and Elon Musk — got some jeers and catcalls from his backers after telling them he conceded to his opponent, Susan Crawford.
“I’ve called Judge Crawford and conceded,” Schimel said.
The remark was met with boos and various shouts of “No!”, but Schimel urged his supporters to throw in the towel.
“No, no, no,” Schimel said. “You gotta accept the results!”
“Satanists!” One supporter shouted in response.
“Cheaters! Cheaters” Shouted another.
But Schimel held firm.
“The numbers aren’t gonna turn around,” he said. “They’re too bad, and we’re not gonna pull this off.”

The stakes were unusually high in the election — given that it determined control of the state’s Supreme Court. Some believe the outcome will pave the way for the Court to order new maps to divide the state’s congressional districts — potentially leading to Democrats picking up several seats in the fall of 2026. Musk’s Super PAC reportedly sunk more than $11 million into the race in an effort to give the court a conservative majority.
