Sage Steel Pushes Stolen Election Lies on Podcast With Top House Republican
Sage Steele continued to push the claim that the Democrats “stole” the 2020 presidential election during a conversation on her podcast with House Republicans.
On a recent episode of The Sage Steele Show, Steele was joined by Reps. Byron Donalds (R-FL) and Wesley Hunt (R-TX). When she pivoted to the topic of the election, she began by reaffirming her belief that the election was illegitimate.
“I think we all know what happened in 2020,” she told Donalds and Hunt. “People don’t want to admit… ‘Oh, are you an election denier?’ Yes, actually. I don’t believe the votes were counted properly. I’ll leave it at that. Tell me why anyone should trust the system in 2024 if we know that people got away with whatever they wanted in 2020.”
Donalds then claimed Democrats went into “every key jurisdiction” to sue in order to “change election procedure.”
“It’s like you’re playing Super Bowl and one coach comes out of halftime and goes to the referees and says, ‘Hey, man, I don’t like the way they’re jamming my receivers. Just stop that. If they hit them, you gotta throw the flag immediately.’ And they tell one coach and not the other. That’s what happened in 2020. They just literally changed the election procedures through the judicial system, or you had local agencies just say, ‘We know this is what we’re supposed to do, but because of Covid, we’re gonna do this.’ Completely changing the rules of how you govern elections.”
The trio then pointed out a number of factors they found to be questionable, like the historically high voter turnout that saw President Joe Biden earn more than 81 million votes.
The issue with the discussion, however, is the fact that the claims have been thoroughly debunked. Former President Donald Trump famously said the only reason he’d lose in 2020 was if Democrats somehow rigged the election. When he eventually did lose, he filed — then lost — more than 60 state and federal court cases to challenge the results of the election.
Last February, it was revealed that Trump paid the Berkley Research Group to investigate voter tallies. The team left no stone unturned, looking into claims of illegal immigrants voting, “ballet harvesting,” machine tampering, voter turnout anomalies, and much more. When they returned to Trump with nothing, he had the report buried.
