Stephen A. Smith Believes Michelle Obama Would Win Election Against Trump ‘Hands Down’
Stephen A. Smith thinks that if Michelle Obama ran for president ahead of the 2024 election, she would easily beat Donald Trump.
Smith appeared on Monday’s episode of Kevin Garnett’s podcast KG Certified. During a discussion about politics, Garnett asked him how close he believes the U.S. is to having a female president. After mentioning Hillary Clinton and her unsuccessful campaign against Trump, he expressed his belief in Obama.
“If the FBI director at the time James Comey hadn’t come in at the last minute with some shit about Hillary and emails,” Smith said, “and Hillary — I believe — had campaigned in Wisconsin and Philadelphia in the waning days before the election, I think you would’ve had a female president in 2016… I think that she was that close.
“And I think that Michelle Obama would win right now if she were to run. I think that Michelle Obama would hands down be the next president of the United State if she were to run against Trump, the presumptive GOP nominee. Now, that obviously is not gonna happen. She doesn’t seem to have an interest.”
When Garnett asked Smith if he liked the idea of Obama being the president, he said he did.
Obama hasn’t explicitly stated a desire to run for president, but that hasn’t stopped analysts from speculating. A recent report even claimed that President Joe Biden could consider stepping down to endorse her this summer.
