Chicago Sky star Angel Reese couldn’t be bothered to hide her frustration with the officiating after Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Lynx.

Heading into the game, the Lynx were among the best teams in the league with a record of 16-2. The Sky, on the other hand, were in the midst of another disappointing season with a record of 5-11. Through the first quarter of Sunday’s game, however, the Sky were on pace to pull off a massive upset — leading 24-10.

The Lynx responded with a lopsided quarter of their own, outscoring the Sky 28-13 to go into halftime with a 38-37 lead. Led by All-Star Napheesa Collier, the Lynx would go on to win 80-75.

After the game, Reese made it clear she was unhappy with the free throw discrepancy between the two teams. From the line, the Lynx had 17 free throws attempts to the Sky’s eight.

“It’s tough when you talk to officials and I asked them, ‘Hey, we only shot 2 free throws. We’ve only been to the free throw line twice up until the 4th quarter,’ and she tells me it’s not her job,” Reese said, “It’s frustrating because I know how hard we’re battling inside. And I think that we came down and fought as hard as we could with what we had; and I just know that we continue to grow in this, and I think this is a leap and step for us and obviously we know we can compete with the best.”

“But that has to be fixed; and I don’t give a damn if I get fined because that shit’s cheap. And I am tired of this shit because I’ve been nice and I’ve been humble with it, but I am tired of this shit,” she continued.
