NFL Twitter believes it has discovered the burner account for Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada.

The Steelers are 2-2 through the first four weeks of the NFL season. While the record isn’t horrible, Steelers fans have seemingly been in agreement that the offense has left much to be desired. The team hasn’t scored at least 30 points in a game since November 2022, and its ugly 30-6 loss to the Houston Texans has led to a lot of questions about Canada’s ability to call an offense.

While most of the NFL community believes Canada to be in the hot seat, Twitter user Dan Robbins says otherwise. Other users noticed Robbins in the replies of many tweets that are critical of Canada. In those responses, Robbins shifts the blame to other members of the organization — such as head coach Mike Tomlin.

After the debacle involving NBA superstar Kevin Durant, people are quick to claim any account coming to the defense of a player or coach is a burner account. That’s when analyst Benjamin Ehrlich took it a step further and went through the “forgot my password” process of logging into the account. There, it displayed a heavily-censored email address that he believes may connect to Canada.

According to A to Z Sports, however, that email might not be correct. The site noted that NFL personnel and coaches that end with “@teamname.nfl.com.” Some on Twitter have pointed out that NFL employees use several different email address formats, so it’s still up for debate if Canada is the one behind the account.
