NFL running back Saquon Barkley fired back at Tiki Barber after the New York Giants legend criticized his decision to go to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Free agency began at noon on Monday, and the Philadelphia Eagles made one of the first big splashes by signing Barkley. The 27-year-old spent all six seasons in the NFL with the Giants, who selected him second overall in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Days before free agency began, it was rumored that the Eagles were interested in Barkley. Barber didn’t approve of Barkley even contemplating joining the Giants’ rival.

When it became official that Barkley was indeed doing that, Barber kept his word.

“He’s dead to us,” Barber said on WFAN Sports Radio. “You’re dead to us, Saquon. Good luck. You’re dead to me.

Barkley, who avoided controversy and contentious social media exchanges throughout his career in the country’s biggest sports market, had enough.

“Lol yup you’re the prime example of loyalty to a team,” Barkley tweeted. “I got the deal I wanted, secured more [guaranteed money] which wasn’t given to me before… So if fans are gonna hate me for that so be it! But I never turned my back on my teammates and always had theirs.

“You been a hater since I got to New York… And all the “Dead to me” talk don’t smile in my face when you see me.”
