Rapper Machine Gun Kelly Trolls Formula 1 Reporter With Incredibly Awkward Live Interview
Rapper Machine Gun Kelly was interviewed at Sunday’s Formula 1 Sao Paulo Grand Prix and went out of his way to make it as uncomfortable as possible for Sky Sports reporter Martin Brundle.
Like he normally does when a race brings the stars out, Brundle wandered the area looking for big names to interview. When he eventually spotted Kelly, their exchange got off to a rough start when Kelly had trouble hearing him and there were multiple awkward pauses that went on entirely too long.
When he finally gave answers, it didn’t really help much. Starting off, Brundle asked him what he has going on in his career.
“I don’t think about my career,” Kelly said while staring at Brundle through his sunglasses.
“Well, I tell you what,” Brundle responded. “Good luck with it, whatever you do.”
After telling a story about being in a music studio with Lewis Hamilton, Kelly flipped the script on Brundle and asked him what he thought about the music industry.
“We love your business,” Brundle said, “because there’s always been a great synergy between the music business and the motor racing business somehow.”
That’s when Kelly challenged Brundle to play some air guitar. Brundle refused, saying his musical knowledge was limited to a few piano lessons when he was younger. Kelly insisted he play air piano when he played air guitar, but Brundle was having none of and simply stood there while Kelly began to play an imaginary guitar.
When Brundle informed Kelly he had to move on and continue roaming the area, Kelly gave a firm thumb down and walked away.
“Something tells me I won’t be on his Christmas card list,” Brundle said as he walked in the other direction.
For Brundle, the awkward exchange is something he’s familiar with. At 2022’s Miami Grand Prix, he interviewed NBA star Paolo Banchero under the impression that he was NFL star Patrick Mahomes.
During last year’s F1 Miami Grand Prix, Martin Brundle thought Paolo Banchero was Patrick Mahomes.
