University of North Carolina coach Bill Belichick was brutally roasted online following his disastrous debut with the Tar Heels.
Belichick’s highly anticipated debut came Monday night in UNC’s season opener against TCU. Prior to the beginning of his tenure with the Tar Heels, Belichick was away from coaching for a year. He split with the New England Patriots at the conclusion of the 2023 NFL season.
While Belichick is widely regarded as one of the greatest coaches in the history of the NFL, the start of his college coaching career couldn’t have gone worse. The Horned Frogs beat the Tar Heels 48-14 — the most points ever allowed by a team coached by the defensive-minded Belichick.
Belichick’s team went into halftime down 20-7. With the blowout underway early, the social media roasting was already in full swing. Much of it centered on Jordon Hudson, the 24-year-old girlfriend of the 73-year-old coach.
Once the game got out of hand, Belichick brought in backup quarterback Max Johnson. As noted by On3 Sports insider Brett McMurphy, Johnson was the same age as Hudson.
The official X/Twitter account of TCU football also joined in the roasting, though the account admin made sure to avoid taking shots at Belichick’s personal life.
