WATCH: A’s Outfielder Scales the Wall to Make One of the Most Acrobatic Catches You’ll Ever See

Athletics rookie centerfielder Denzel Clarke is taking baseball by storm with his dazzling, acrobatic catches. Last week in a game against the Baltimore Orioles, Clarke made a superb grab while colliding with the wall at full speed — a play that many observers lauded as a potential catch of the year. But on Monday night, he managed to top it.
In the bottom of the first inning of the A’s game against the Los Angeles Angels, Nolan Schanuel hammered a pitch to straightaway center — which looked like a certain home run. But Denzel Clarke raced back, scaled the wall, and somehow reached several feet over to make the jaw-dropping grab.
“Oh my God!” said Dallas Braden — who was on the call for NBC Sports California. He added, “I’ve seen the list of the greatest catches you’re ever going to see in your life. If you don’t have room for this one, we’re watching two different sports.”
Even Clarke had trouble downplaying his acrobatics. Asked by reporters after the game where the catch ranks in his personal pantheon, the A’s phenom acknowledged it was top of the list.
“I think this is probably the best one I’ve ever made,” Clarke said.
Until next week, perhaps.
