WATCH: Pat McAfee Flummoxed By Stunning On-Air Callout of ESPN — As Guest Hits Network Over Rape Claims Against Shannon Sharpe
WWE manager Paul Heyman stunned The Pat McAfee Show and its live audience when he made a joke about the recent rape accusation against Shannon Sharpe.
On Monday, TMZ reported that a woman had filed a lawsuit against the former NFL star. She accused Sharpe of sexually assaulting her multiple times between late 2024 and early 2025, and sought $50 million. Sharpe did not provide a comment for the report.
Hours later, Heyman appeared on the The Pat McAfee Show to discuss the events of WrestleMania over the previous two nights. On Saturday night, Heyman played a major role in the main event when he betrayed wrestlers CM Punk and Roman Reigns to help Seth Rollins win the match.
During his interview on McAfee’s show, a still-in-character Heyman said:
We just happen to be two like-minded, like-interested people walking into the main event of WrestleMania and understanding that we both suffered the same fate at the tribal chief Roman Reigns, that Roman Reigns uses everyone in his sight, squeezes the juice out of the fruit ’til it’s not useful anymore, and then discards them like he did to me.
See, CM Punk does as much good to my reputation as Shannon Sharpe does to ESPN.
The crowd groaned as a visibly flustered McAfee said, “We don’t need that. A lot going on.”
Undeterred by the crowd response, Heyman doubled down.
“Don’t ‘ooh’ me!” Heyman said. “I’m not the one getting sued!”
