WATCH: Tampa Bay Rays Player Appears to Do Trump ‘Fight’ Celebration After Getting a Hit

Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Taylor Walls seemed to celebrate a base hit by referencing Donald Trump’s defiant “fight” chant after he was nearly assassinated.
The Rays took on the New York Yankees on Sunday in The Bronx. In the fifth inning, Walls hit a two-out single off Yankees pitcher Marcus Stroman. When he got to second base, he turned to his team’s dugout, pumped his fist in the air and appeared to say, “Fight, fight.” To many online, the celebration was clearly done as a reference to Trump.

Moments after Trump was shot at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, he stood up and pumped his fist to the crowd as Secret Service agents were huddled around him. The image — captured in one of the most striking photos in recent memory — is viewed by many Trump fans as an example of willingness to “fight” for the country.
A number of conservative social media accounts praised Walls for seemingly showing support for the former president.
