‘Y’all Be On That Bull-Junk!’ Deion Sanders Snipes at Reporter, Refuses to Take His Question

University of Colorado football coach Deion Sanders made it clear that he wasn’t a fan of The Athletic during his media availability Wednesday.

Sanders was in attendance for Big 12 Media Days at The Star in Frisco, Texas. As the coach took questions in a press conference, The Athletic’s David Ubben was called on.

“Coach, what have been the challenges of your health issues,” Ubben said, “and what does an average day look like for you?”

Not long after the conclusion of the 2024-25 season, it was announced that Sanders would be away from the team while he dealt with a health issue. The nature of that health issue has yet to be disclosed.

Sanders wasn’t interested in changing that.

“Athletic, sometimes y’all be on that bull-junk,” Sanders told Ubben, “so I’m really not gonna tell you much. You know that. But I’m not here to talk about my health. I’m here to talk about my team.”

Public call-outs like that aren’t entirely new for Sanders. Last season, he had a reporter from The Denver Post banned over the reporter’s negative coverage of Sanders and the team; and he even chastised the entire press room one day and suggested they were jealous of the money college athletes make.
