Anti-Trump Influencer Adam Mockler Hits Back at Cuomo Over Viral Clip on Nazi Chat Confrontation

Anti-Trump influencer Adam Mockler pushed back when Chris Cuomo criticized the “hyping” of a viral confrontation in which Turning Point USA’s Andrew Kolvet failed to condemn a shockingly racist leaked text chat.

The leaked Telegram chat between Young Republican leaders — which contained horrific racist, anti-Jew, pro-Nazi, and otherwise bigoted rhetoric — came up during NewsNation’s Cuomo-hosted town hall event this week. Mockler  — a Democratic influencer with the powerhouse online MeidasTouch network — expressed shock when Kolvet failed to condemn the chat. Everyone else onstage — Cuomo included — immediately did.

On Thursday night’s edition of NewsNation’s Cuomo, Cuomo objected to the way MeidasTouch and its leaders “hyped” Mockler’s exchanges on the issue.

He began the segment with that criticism, which Mockler went on to address by telling Cuomo the “hype” isn’t the reason the clip went viral — the content was:

CHRIS CUOMO: Look, I got to tell you, the moment kind of confused me in the moment, I’m not surprised it went viral. Why? Because that’s what they amplify. Outrage, Nazi, answer, not, own, destroyed, all that BS, right?

I want to disrupt that, because I know it’s the problem. Now, what is also a problem? The texts, right? From these young Republicans.

CHRIS CUOMO: Hold on, hold on, Ben. Pelosi’s a step too far because the way he made a joke about what happened and other Republicans made a joke– now again I hate all of this and want to disrupt it because I know it’s cheap.

I’m just saying no one has high ground until you two do what you’re talking about here on a regular basis for your own.

But right now it’s just too easy to do what JD Vance did that pissed off Adam, which is “I’m gonna go right to the other side being worse.”.

We gotta get about who is better.

And Adam, look, I get why you did what you did, but I did see how the Midas Touch advertised it today. The MeidasTouch, “Master class! Look how he destroyed! Look how he exposed the Nazi sympathies!”

ADAM MOCKLER: Wait, wait, was there anything unfactual about what I said? Can you name one unfactal thing?

CHRIS CUOMO: No, I’m talking about how it was hyped what you said was all true

ADAM MOCKLER: The Meidas Touch tweet, I promise you, the Meidas Touch tweet was a transcript of our wording. And then the owner of Meidas Touch said, “Adam Mockler put on a masterclass” because this is a guy who supports me and he thought I did a good job. This is not us trying to spin it.

CHRIS CUOMO: I know but it’s not a master class because what that suggests is this is how you take them down. And I think that that is part of.

ADAM MOCKLER: It shouldn’t be easy to take someone down by asking them if they condemn gas chambers.

CHRIS CUOMO: It’s not the substance–.

ADAM MOCKLER: Here’s why it went viral–. Here’s why I went viral.

CHRIS CUOMO: Because you suggested the guy’s a Nazi. That’s why it went viral–.

ADAM MOCKLER: No, I did not.

CHRIS CUOMO: No not you, no I’m saying his lack of answering suggested that he had a– that he was okay with it. That’s why it went viral.

ADAM MOCKLER: You just said that I suggested he was a Nazi.

CHRIS CUOMO: When I say I I mean the content I– not you. You weren’t trying to hurt him.

ADAM MOCKLER: Okay, wait, this went viral based on the actual bearings of the clip. He was acting very, very, you know, squirmy when I asked him a very simple question.

CHRIS CUOMO: Yeah I agree

And then it happened, Stephen A. Smith immediately said, hell yeah, I condemn it. And then even he said, I can condemn it, so then I brought it back and said, you can condemn this, right?

The idea that I spun this to go viral is not true whatsoever–

CHRIS CUOMO: I’m not you, I’m talking about how the Meidas Touch used it, which is how they should use it because that’s what trips the algorithms.

ADAM MOCKLER: I’m really- Really quickly, can I respond to one more thing?

CHRIS CUOMO: Adam, if I had a problem with you, and I’ll give you the last word. If I had problem with, you we wouldn’t be talking right now, right? I would have just called you up and said, here’s why we’re done.

I don’t have a problem you. I have a problems with what works, frankly, but I’m not blaming you for that.
