Australian Identical Twins Speak In-Sync Throughout Surreal Viral Interview After Armed Carjacking Incident: ‘Run! He’s Got a Gun!’

Australian identical twins Bridgette Powers and Paula Powers spoke in-sync throughout a surreal local news interview as they recounted how their mother was caught up in a terrifying armed carjacking after a stolen SUV flipped on Steve Irwin Way in Queensland.

The Powers twins, founders of Twinnies Pelican and Seabird Rescue on Australia’s Sunshine Coast, who already made news in the past for their in-sync interviews, appeared on 7News Queensland after their mother, who rushed to help the crash victim, came face-to-face with a gun-wielding man emerging from the wreckage.

The pair responded to the journalist’s questions at the same time, in the same words, without skipping a beat.

“And one guy, he was up there with our mum… he goes, run, he’s got a gun,” one sister recounted as the other mirrored her speech exactly. “And our heart started to pound. And I said, ‘Oh, mum, where’s mum?’ And poor mum was stuck up there.”

According to the sisters, their mother stayed calm in the face of the armed suspect.

“She goes: ‘Are you alright?’ Because he had blood all over his face. And he goes: ‘I’ll shoot you.’ She goes: ‘Hey, I’m here to help.’”

In a moment of quick thinking, the mother distracted the gunman before fleeing into nearby bushland.

“The guy goes to her: ‘I’ll find you and I’ll shoot you’,” they recalled.

Fortunately, both the twins and their mother escaped safely.

The story makes for an unlikely sequel to the Powers twins last big interview from 2016, which went viral as they again answered every question in unison on ITV’s Good Morning Britain — earning stunned reactions from hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid.

The duo, however, have reportedly long captivated Australians for their eccentricity and time growing up near late conservationist and famous animal-loving TV personality Steve Irwin. The synchrony, they explained to Morgan in 2016, is simply part of their lifelong bond — one that extends to sleeping in twin beds, wearing identical clothes, and sharing a single phone.
