BBC Host Audibly Gasps As Dem Strategist Rips Trump’s Charlie Kirk Tribute: ‘He Wasn’t Admired And Loved By All!’

BBC host Caitríona Perry audibly gasped after reading out President Donald Trump’s tribute to conservative activist Charlie Kirk as Democratic strategist Joi Chaney countered that the Turning Point USA founder “wasn’t admired and loved by all.”

Trump shared his devastation at the death of Kirk in a post on his Truth Social account late Wednesday, describing him as “Great, and even Legendary” and offering sympathies to his family after the Turning Point USA founder was shot and killed during a Q&A session at a Utah campus.

“Joi, this is a shocking moment in this country really isn’t it?” Perry reflected, after reading out Trump’s post on-air.

“It is a really shocking moment, you know, and I was thinking, you know, I’ve never shared a Trump post in my life. I will contemplate sharing this one,” Chaney laughed.

She continued: “But what I will say with the caveat, he wasn’t admired and loved by all.”

Perry let out a stunned gasp at the reply before Chaney continued: “So that’s an exaggeration. But the truth is, it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter -”

As a co-panelist attempted to cut in, the strategist added: “Let me finish. It doesn’t matter whether he was loved, I know President Trump said it, but I’m not critiquing it.

She continued: “What I’m saying is we don’t have to like and admire someone to want to believe that they get to go out and speak and share their views in front of people who support them and who don’t support them and be able to walk away from it and be alive.”

Chaney added that she condemned political violence, saying she did not understand the “motivations” of the shooter but offered her condolences to Kirk’s family before the BBC host quickly moved on to another guest.

The comments drew immediate condemnation from viewers and UK conservatives who blasted the broadcaster for hosting Chaney.
